Labelbox is a commercial, end-to-end data platform for producing and managing training and evaluation data. Rather than a single labeling editor, it bundles three connected pieces: Annotate for creating labels, Catalog for exploring and curating unstructured data, and Model Foundry for model-assisted labeling and evaluation.

What it does

Annotate provides labeling editors across computer vision, natural language, and multimodal and LLM tasks such as chat rating and prompt and response generation, layered with review and workforce-management workflows. Catalog lets teams search, filter, and curate large unstructured datasets and route selected slices into labeling or evaluation. Model-assisted labeling brings a user’s own model in to generate pre-labels that annotators then review and correct.

Key features

  • Multimodal editors for vision, NLP, and LLM evaluation tasks
  • Catalog data engine for discovery, filtering, and curation at scale
  • Model-assisted labeling and model evaluation via Model Foundry
  • Review, consensus, and workforce management workflows
  • No-code integrations with data warehouses such as Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery

Deployment and users

Labelbox is offered as a managed cloud service with a free starter tier plus paid and enterprise plans, and it can connect a managed labeling workforce. It is typically adopted by mid-size to enterprise AI teams that want data curation, labeling, and model evaluation in one governed platform rather than stitching together separate tools.
