RAIC Labs — founded in 2019 as Synthetaic by National Geographic Explorer Corey Jaskolski — builds RAIC (Rapid Automatic Image Categorization), a computer-vision system for classification and detection on photography, video, and satellite imagery. The company’s early product used synthetic training data for computer-vision models before it expanded into transformer-based image search. RAIC Labs raised a $15M Series B round in February 2024 and has partnered with Planet Labs and Microsoft.
