Sama, founded in 2008 as the nonprofit Samasource before converting to a for-profit hybrid model in 2019, provides human-verified annotation, validation, and evaluation for computer vision and language AI. Services cover image and video object detection/segmentation, LiDAR and radar point-cloud labeling, and text annotation for instruction-following and preference data, delivered through centers in Kenya and Uganda under a certified B Corp impact-sourcing model.
